Pictorial of mare having a foal

If you've ever wondered what it looks like here are some pics taken 11/12. Some pics are a bit yukky so beware. Thanks to our very quiet mare Patience who didn't mind me ducking in every now and then to take these shots of her and new foal Riverton Lodge Jack of Diamonds. She kept going back to this spot for four days. Very uncomfortable tail up belly dropped, pawing the ground.

Mare seen from behind you can still see a little wax on the left teat was shooting milk everytime she moved by this stage. Mare was running sweat darkening her coat and she also had very sloopy poo. Vulva starting to lenghthen.down she goes.Vulva open and gaping.

not happy rocks backwards and forwards gets up and changes sides.waters breakingfirst sight of the bag

there's the foot.here he is slipped out and straight under mums leg. LOL.phew this being born can take it out of a fella. Foal trying to find legs this was one of the attempts. Whoops. We had tied the bag up a bit too so wasn't draging around on the ground

success at last.

You still there??? Foal by this stage had had its first drink and first poo. Time from start to finish of birth 32 mins.
