Otway View Montecarlo.Registered with the Australian Pony Stud Book Society and the Tasmanian Pinto Society. He is a 10 hand high Chestnut & White 17 yr old stallion with very even Tobiano markings . By Otway View Galaxy (dec) out of Macdhui Fleur 2nd. Monte was bred in Victoria by the well known and well respected Otway View Shetland stud of Jo and Dave Maurice. Monte had a short but very successful show career in Victoria before coming to Tasmania. Before he reached our shores he had won over 10 Championships, a Grand Champion Male Exhibit and A Victorian Pinto Society Hi Point Under 3 yr old award. Montecarlo is a truly stunning stallion who is not just a pretty face. In a three year Show career here in Tasmania cut short due to injury he won 11 Supremes, Over 50 Champions, Hi-Point Pinto Stallion twice, not easy against stallions who are twice his size. He achieved a Pinto Society Bronze level ROM. Three times Hi-Point Shetland Stallion as well as Overall Hi-Point Shetland three times. He proves himself as a sire with his progeny also following in his hoofsteps. His foals Black Jack, Keno and Monaco have all been Best Foal Exhibits at the APSB Stud Show. Mirrabella and Keno have both won Foal Futurities and Under 10.2hh Championships at Pinto State Shows. In 2002 the TPS Inc 25th Anniversary year Monte made a return to the showring in that season Keno, Mirrabella and Monte were all Pinto Hi-Point Winners in their categories never before has this been achieved in the Tasmanian Pinto Society by a Pinto Stallion and his progeny. Another of Monte’s babies Mialooka in her first season won a Hi-Point Pinto award not only for herself but for her handler as well. She along with her half sister Mirrabella (now at Domino Downs Vic) have received their Bronze level ROM. He also has progeny and siblings on the Mainland who have won Championships in both Victoria, NSW and Queensland. We are so proud of Monte’s Progeny all those that have been shown have done so well in many different disciplines, not only for us but many other proud owners . Monte last season made another quick return to the ring winning Supreme Champion Exhibit at the State Pinto Championships earning him his Silver level ROM and Hi Point Stallion.
SHADY GLEN GAYMAN aka Woofie Sired by the legendary Wells Rising Star IMP (dec) dam: Shady Glen Gaiety 9.3 hh black.
Woofie came to us through a tragedy. We had been given a beautiful big black stallion called Boree Glen Angus whom my husband Peter had admired for years, unfortunately Angus passed away not long after arriving here due to an enterolith (intestinal stone) which caused severe colic no one could of predicted this and of course we were all very upset. I was then very quickly offered Woofie he arrived a few months later. We put 13 mares in foal to Woofie that first season not thinking that all would get in foal but guess what they did!!!! Woofie was a bit strong for me to handle and show so hubby took on the task but he refused to call a stallion Gayman so the nickname Woofie came about. In the first season Woofie achieved some remarkable things not the least being awarded a Supreme Champion Overall of Show. His first foal drop consisted of mostly fillies making it very hard to choose who we were going to keep and who was going to be sold. Drought hit and the decision was made very quickly. On our mare page you will see the ones that we decided to keep.
OTWAY VIEW ROYAL JEST Sire: Otway View Kossak Dam: Otway View Laanie 8.3 hh 89cms. Colour. Born buckskin but now a chocolate brown or brown buckskin.
On a stud tour to Victoria we spotted this fellow in the stable at Otway View. He was black as the ace of spades and one of the bigger colts being weaned. Although he was by Kossak who is a mini his dam Laanie was a good size. At the time (before Angus or Woofie) we wanted a good medium sized black stallion. Not realising we had seen this colt on video a few months before as a buckskin baby, we purchased him. Imagine our surprize when he arrived sporting a very dark dorsal stripe and gold coloured hair around his eyes. Jest hasn't been used a lot here as for the first few years he gave us colts, colts and more colts and black, well what we thought were black. We used him again over some mares going to the mainland and it was through the owner of one of these that we worked out that all those black colts were in fact black or brown buckskin. So we used him once again stating that if he produced another colt he would be losing his royal jewels. First foal that season was appropriately named Julz (because she saved his lol) a pally and white filly, very next foal Shezalooka another pally and white filly, so he must of thought the threat was very real.
Riverton Lodge Julz.
Timarron Cottage Sonatra. Sire: Sunny Ray Sonny Dam; Daniel Park Georgia

Sonny was born on the 30/11/2007. We purchased him in March and he arrived here in June. Shown for the first time at Burnie he came home with 2 first places and a Champion. He was a bit of a handful in the ring being his first show but he washed, stabled, rugged and floated like an old pro. He stood tied up to the float with his (well he thought so anyway) girlfriend Sally (14.2hh Paint Mare) and behaved himself so I was very pleased with his behaviour outside of the ring. He has movement to die for and over the big moving daughters of Montecarlo and Woofie should cross well, with hopefully a bit of colour thrown in. We have measured him at 9.3hh on the 4/10/08 so is a very well grown boy we are hoping he ends up around the 10.1hh
With his friend the chook.
Sonny as a baby.
